International Career Consulting

Your experience isn't the problem. The way it reads abroad is.

Every month, strong résumés are filtered out of international hiring processes over formatting, vocabulary and positioning — not competence. I help you translate your track record into the criteria hiring teams abroad actually apply.

Where applications stall

It's rarely about experience. It's about translation.

01

Your résumé doesn't read the way you think it does

Format, length, order and vocabulary shift from market to market. A résumé that opens doors at home can be screened out by an applicant tracking system before a person ever sees it.

02

Plenty of applications, hardly any interviews

Volume isn't a strategy. Without sharp positioning and a mapped shortlist of target companies, effort spreads thin across roles that were never a realistic match.

03

Nobody tells you what's actually being assessed

International processes weigh communication, cultural context and how you structure an answer — not only technical skill. That is expensive to learn by trial and error.

Who's behind it

Raquel Camargo

I'm a journalist with a master's degree in Language Studies, and I've worked in communications and digital marketing since 2008. I've been hired by companies in four countries — Brazil, Australia, the United Arab Emirates and Canada — and I now live in Toronto as a Canadian permanent resident.

I've been through the processes you're facing. I learned first-hand what each market expects, where international candidates get dismissed unfairly, and how much changes once your experience is presented in the right language — not just the right words, but the right frame of reference.

I also work from the other side of the table: I've taught at Concordia University, trained more than 300 professionals, and guided over 75 people through international career transitions.

Borderless Career grew out of that. When a case calls for it, I work alongside recruiters and HR professionals in different countries, so the guidance comes from people who know the local market from the inside.

The Global Career Method

A process, not a pile of loose advice.

Each stage addresses a specific point where applications tend to die.

01

Strategic Diagnosis

A clear read of your profile, goals and current stage. Where the real openings are, what genuinely sets you apart, and what's blocking the process today.

02

International Positioning

Rebuilding your résumé, LinkedIn and professional narrative around the criteria of your target market — including how applicant tracking systems read them.

03

Market Strategy

Mapping the right companies, sectors and channels for your profile. A focused search outperforms hundreds of scattered applications.

04

Interview & Process Preparation

Interview practice, professional communication, negotiation, and how to make decisions as the process moves forward.

You finish with a clear action plan: what to do, in what order, and how to decide along the way.

The first step

Start with a discovery session

Before any proposal, we talk. Thirty minutes, online, with one purpose: to understand where you are, what you're aiming for internationally, and what's holding the process back — and to give you an honest direction, even if that direction is that you don't need consulting yet.

What you leave with:

  • A realistic read of where you stand and what's missing
  • The two or three changes that would move the needle most
  • Clarity on which services make sense — and which don't
  • If it makes sense to continue, a tailored proposal by email

Frequently asked

Before you book

What language are the sessions in?

English, Portuguese or Spanish — whichever you're most comfortable with. The strategy work is the same; only the language of our conversation changes.

Does this work for remote roles, without relocating?

Yes, and it's a large share of the cases I see. The strategy shifts: different companies, different channels, and a different way of positioning yourself.

Do you work with any field and any background?

I work with professionals across fields, seniority levels and countries of origin. What determines whether I can help isn't your field — it's your goal and your current stage, and that's exactly what the discovery session clarifies, before any commitment.

Do you guarantee I'll get hired?

No, and I'd be wary of anyone who does. What I do is measurably strengthen how you compete, and remove the mistakes that get applications rejected before an interview ever happens.

How long does the process take?

A complete process usually runs three to five weeks, depending on your availability and the pace of the work.

How does payment work?

Interac e-Transfer in Canada, PayPal, or PIX for Brazil with same-day conversion. Larger engagements can be split into two instalments.
